Resanance is a good free soundboard, but it needs a virtual cable set up in every app. Onion Board is free too, plays your sounds straight through the mic you already use, and brings your Resanance board over in one click.

Bring your Resanance board over in one click
When you install Onion Board and Resanance is on your PC, it offers to bring your sounds over,
with their names, categories and hotkeys. Your Resanance setup keeps its own copy, so you
can try Onion Board without losing anything. Already installed? Backup → Import from
another soundboard does the same any time.
What's different
No virtual cable. Your sounds go into your real mic, so Discord and every game keep
their normal mic setting. (The cable still works if you prefer it: see
no virtual cable.)
A voice changer and text-to-speech built in, with 21 ready voices and optional AI voices.
An in-game overlay with your pads, and hotkeys that work in fullscreen games.
Add sounds from search: YouTube, SoundCloud and Myinstants, one click to keep one as a pad.
Screen triggers: play a sound when something shows up in your game, like "YOU DIED".
The short guide asks for your mic and headphones. Click Put my sounds straight into my mic and Yes when Windows asks. No virtual cable needed.
In Discord (User Settings → Voice & Video), keep your normal mic. Set Input Profile to Custom, Noise Suppression to None and turn Echo Cancellation off, so Discord doesn't filter your sounds out. Onion Board reads these settings and tells you if one is in the way.
Drag sound files onto the window, right-click a pad to give it a hotkey, and play.
Onion Board isn't affiliated with Resanance. The name is used here only to describe what Onion Board is an alternative to and what it can import from.
